EXPERIENCED PREP COOK Boulettes Larder is seeking an experienced cook with a passion for learning, a drive for excellence and a desire to create delicious food. About You: You can work under pressure and respond to daily changing ingredients. You pride yourself on your professional appearance and good communication protocols. You are curious and inspired to achieve your best by receiving feedback and you embrace the opportunity to learn from others. Your previous workmates and friends tell you that your cool temperament and grace under pressure is an inspiration to them. You have experience in menu prep and take pride in maintaining a well-organized workspace. You speak and understand detailed instructions in English and can read and follow recipes. You have sharp knives and can maintain them. You have experienced working with vegetables and proteins cuts and preparations. Position Description: Executing tasks with speed and precision. Ensuring that the prep kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards Completing daily prep lists for Chef Organizing and maintainingingredients in cold and dry storage Complying with and enforcing sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintaining a positive and professional approach with all employees Maintaining order in storage and walk-in refrigeration areas. Required experience: 3+ years professional experience. Understanding of and curiosity of culinary techniques, various cooking methods, and cuisines. Maintain high-quality standards and clean work habits with a great attention to detail. Verbal and written communication skills. Familiar with industry’s best practices, equipment, and procedures. Ability to meet physical requirements (see below) and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates with some pastry technique and a desire to learn and grow these skills will receive serious consideration. Qualifications Standards: Ability to complete all job-specific training. Ability to adhere to all policies and procedures. Reading, writing, basic arithmetic, and verbal communication skills required. Ability to speak, understand and communicate in both English and Spanish. Mobility required during the entire shift. Ability to execute all mechanical tasks involved with maintaining a clean, neat, and organized working environment Daytime and evening shifts available. Full-time opportunity Tuesday through Saturday. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for up to (6) hours at a time. Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and can lift up to 50 pounds. Pay Rate: Pay rate is competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualification and ability to perform in a professional environment with high standards. Starting pay: $24/hr
